Find the car you want at nearby dealers, check its history and get a real final price by email

🧰 Before you start

• A Grok Bot account (free trial, then The X Subscription Premium)
• The car you want: make, model, year range, budget, colour and must-haves
• Your area and how far you'll travel
• Whether you'll pay cash, take a loan or trade in a car

🪜 Steps (tick as you go)

   1. Get Grok Bot

   Install Grok Bot (buttons below) and sign in. In Settings, look for Usage & Billing and set a monthly spending limit so it can never surprise you.

   2. Add the template

   Tap 'Add Car Deal Hunter' below. It opens the template page on x.ai: tap Add to Grok Bot. It's made by a user (David), not the company, so read what it does before you add it.

   3. Tell it what you want

   Paste the 'My car brief' prompt with your details. Be specific: a clear brief stops dealers steering you to other cars.

   4. Keep approvals on

   Leave the default 'approve each dealer email' setting on. You'll see every message before it goes, and it never agrees to buy anything.

   5. Read the Deal Board

   The bot lists each car it finds: dealer, price, mileage, history notes and the full final price once the dealer replies. Ask it to explain any fee you don't recognise.

   6. Push for the full price in writing

   Use the 'Final price request' prompt for dealers who only give the advertised price. The full price (on-the-road or 'out-the-door') includes every fee and tax.

   7. Check the car yourself

   Before you pay anything, see the car, test-drive it, and get an independent inspection for a used car. The bot gathers prices; it can't see rust or hear a noisy gearbox.

Find me this car: [make and model], [year range], under [mileage], colour [colours or 'any'], must have [features]. Budget: [amount] for the full on-the-road price. Area: within [distance] of [town]. I'm paying by [cash / loan / trade-in of my car: details]. Search dealer stock, check each car's history where you can (accidents, owners, service record), and put every match on the Deal Board with the advertised price and a link. Don't email anyone until I've seen the list.

Draft a short, polite email to [dealer name] about the [car and stock number]. Say I'm a ready buyer comparing a few dealers and ask for the full on-the-road price in writing, listing every fee, tax and add-on separately, and whether any add-ons can be removed. Mention I won't be adding paid extras I didn't ask for. Show me the draft and wait for my OK. Never agree to buy, pay a deposit or share my ID.
