📣Marketing & Content · Step-by-step guide

Find the short-video openings that already work, film your own versions in an hour, and let AI pick the best takes

Instead of paying creators for promo videos, you film them yourself. Claude first studies short videos that already did well in your niche and sorts their opening lines ('hooks') into a few formats, then writes a shot list for your product. You film for about an hour, Claude picks the best few seconds of each take and helps edit, and a scheduler posts them spread out across your accounts.

🎯 What you'll have at the endYou'll have a batch of short promo videos you filmed yourself in about an hour, built on hooks that already work in your niche and posted on a safe schedule.

👀 What you'll get

Example

Here's the kind of thing you'll have at the end:

✅ ListShot list · Kedai Kek Mama, batch 1

Video 1: 'wait, you can order the cake today?'

  • 2 sec: you reading a calendar, shocked face
  • Then: phone screen, order page, 'pick up tomorrow'
  • Captions: 'choose a design' then 'pay' then 'collect'

Video 2: 'POV: you forgot the birthday is tomorrow'

  • 2 sec: hand slapping forehead
  • Then: cake being boxed at the counter

Video 3: before / after

  • Plain sponge, then the finished cake, cut on the beat

Filming order

  • Kitchen shots first, then counter, then sofa reactions

🧪 To try it once
Free: Claude's free plan can sort a few pasted hooks and write one shot list.
🔁 To keep it running
Claude Pro: USD 20 a month, or USD 17 a month paid yearly. Max (from USD 100 a month) is only for very heavy daily use. A scheduler is extra: Postiz Standard is USD 29 a month (7-day free trial); Buffer and the platforms' own schedulers have free options.
⚠️ Watch out for
Collecting videos automatically uses a paid data tool: the creator says under USD 10 for her first week (they say); Apify's free plan includes USD 5 of usage a month. Editing apps with paid features (for example CapCut Pro) are optional.

💬 Your 10-minute test
I run Kedai Kek Mama, a home bakery that sells custom birthday cakes you can order the day before. Here are the opening lines of 6 short videos that did well for other bakeries:
1. 'POV: you forgot the birthday is tomorrow'
2. 'wait, you can order a custom cake TODAY?'
3. 'hot take: supermarket cakes are a scam'
4. 'things I'd never put on a cake as a baker'
5. 'before / after: plain sponge to unicorn cake'
6. 'girl to girl: this is the cake hack'

Group them into hook formats, explain in one line why each works, and rewrite the best 3 for my bakery. Then write a one-hour home shot list for those 3 videos: on-screen text, what I film for the first 2 seconds, and the product shot after it.

  1. 1
    ☐

    Collect videos that worked

Save links to short videos in your niche from the last 6 months with lots of views or saves. Older hooks get copied and wear out fast.

  2. 2
    ☐

    Let Claude sort the hooks

In a Claude Project (a saved workspace), paste the links or their opening lines and use the 'Hook formats' prompt. Claude groups them into formats like 'POV: …', 'wait, you don't have to…?' or before/after.

  3. 3
    ☐

    Read the comments too

Copy the top comments from a competitor's popular video into Claude. Questions people ask there make great hooks if your product answers them.

  4. 4
    ☐

    Get a shot list

Use the 'Shot list' prompt. For each video you get the on-screen line, what to film (2-3 seconds of your reaction, then the product) and the sound to use.

  5. 5
    ☐

    Film for one hour

Film 20-30 short takes in one go: reactions, before/after, product in use. You don't need a studio; the hook matters more than the background.

  6. 6
    ☐

    Pick the best takes

Upload your takes (or stills from them) and ask Claude to choose the best 2-3 seconds of each and say why. Edit in CapCut or your phone's editor, adding short step captions.

  7. 7
    ☐

    Check for private details

Before posting, check every screen recording frame by frame for names, photos or messages you didn't mean to show.

  8. 8
    ☐

    Schedule safely

Use the 'Posting plan' prompt, then load the plan into your scheduler: 1-2 posts a day per new account, hours apart, a unique caption each time.

  9. 9
    ☐

    Optional: keep the winners

Rate each video 'keep' or 'drop' after a few days. Make new versions of the winners and give the best formats to paid creators later as a clear brief.

💬 Copy-paste prompts

Tap Copy prompt, paste it into your AI (Grok, ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini), then replace the [yellow bits] with your own details.

💬 Hook formats
I sell [product] to [audience]. Below are the opening lines and descriptions of short videos from the last 6 months that did well in my niche:
[paste opening lines, view counts and a one-line description of each]
Group them into hook formats (for example 'POV: …', 'wait, you don't have to…?', before/after, 'hot take:'). For each format: what it is, why it works, the best 2 examples, and 3 versions rewritten for my product. Then tell me which 5 formats to film first and why.
💬 Shot list
Turn these 5 hooks into a shot list I can film at home in one hour: [paste hooks]. For each video give: the on-screen text, what I film for the first 2-3 seconds (my reaction or action), the product shot or screen recording that follows, a short caption for each step, and the kind of sound to use. Group shots that use the same spot or outfit so I move as little as possible.
💬 Posting plan
I have [number] finished videos and these accounts: [list platforms and how old each account is]. Make a 2-week posting plan: 1-2 posts a day per new account, at least 4 hours apart, never the same video twice on the same platform, a unique caption for each post with the brand name once, 2-4 hashtags that change each time, and one real question at the end. Output a table I can copy into my scheduler.

⚠️ Tips & common mistakes

🌟 Why it's worth it

💡 Why it mattersCreators can charge hundreds of dollars for one short video, and the opening seconds decide whether anyone watches. Copying proven formats and filming yourself means you can test many hooks cheaply, keep the ones that work, and only pay creators later for formats you know succeed.
🏷️ Real exampleNadia Zueva (@nestymee on X), co-founder of the outfit app Aesty, wrote on 26 Oct 2026 (in a paid collaboration with the scheduler Postiz) that after a creator quoted USD 250 for one video, she filmed it herself and it became their best Short with 20k views. Claude then analysed 249 viral app promos into 15 hook formats; it writes her shot page, picks the best 2-3 seconds of each take and edits, and the videos are scheduled through Postiz. She says she made 46 videos in 4 days for under USD 10 in data costs, and shares her Claude skills free on GitHub.
