Run a PR and link-building campaign with a dot that keeps the tracker up to date

⏱️ 1 hour to set up, 10 minutes a day to review · 🎯 Medium · 💵 ChatGPT Pro from about USD 100/month (your first dot is included; heavy use draws on an allowance)

🧰 Before you start

🪜 Steps (tick as you go)

  1. ☐
    1. Create your dot

Open ChatGPT and choose dots (on the desktop app, a desktop browser or the phone app). Follow the short introduction, give your dot a name and pick how it looks. You can keep the defaults.

  2. ☐
    2. Connect email and Sheets

Connect your email and Google Sheets through plugins so it can draft pitches and update the tracker.

  3. ☐
    3. Make the tracker

Create a sheet with columns: Site, Type (directory, blog, news), Contact, Action taken, Date, Status (submitted / replied / live), Link, Notes.

  4. ☐
    4. Give it the campaign

Paste the campaign prompt below. Be clear on what it may do alone (submit to free business directories) and what needs you (any email pitch).

  5. ☐
    5. Review daily

Each day, read new drafts and approve the good ones. Click the 'live' links yourself to check they really exist.

  6. ☐
    6. Weekly check-in

Ask for a weekly summary: what worked, what didn't, and the next 10 targets.

💬 PR campaign
Your ongoing job: get [business name] ([website]) mentioned and linked on relevant, reputable websites.
Targets: [e.g. Malaysian business directories, property blogs, local news sites, industry associations].
You may: research targets and submit to free, legitimate business directories.
Ask me first before: emailing any person, paying anything, creating accounts that need my ID.
Keep the tracker [sheet name] accurate: never mark something 'live' until you have seen the link on the page.
Every day at [5 p.m.] message me: actions taken, replies needing me, and anything now live.
