🧰 Before you start

🪜 Steps (tick as you go)

  1. ☐
    1. Open Gemini on the web

Go to gemini.google.com on a computer and sign in with the same personal Google account you use for your Business Profile.

  2. ☐
    2. Connect your profile

Ask something about your business, e.g. 'How is my business doing on Google this month?'. If Gemini doesn't use your profile, add @Google Business Profile to the message. When it offers to connect, follow the on-screen steps.

  3. ☐
    3. Make your business notebook

If you're offered a business notebook, select Connect and confirm your website address. It appears in the sidebar under Notebooks, with suggestions such as missing hours or photos.

  4. ☐
    4. Draft review replies

Paste the 'Review replies' prompt. Gemini lists recent reviews and drafts a reply for each. Read and edit every draft before it goes on your profile.

  5. ☐
    5. See what customers say

Ask it to sum up the themes in your reviews: what people praise and what they complain about, with how often each comes up.

  6. ☐
    6. Keep the profile fresh

Ask for a weekly Update, Offer or Event post, and set special opening hours before public holidays.

  7. ☐
    7. Optional: check your numbers monthlyOptional extra

Use the 'Monthly check-up' prompt for how often you were shown, website clicks, direction requests and bookings, compared with last month, plus the search words people used to find you.

💬 Review replies
@Google Business Profile Show me my reviews from the last [30] days that have no reply yet. For each one, draft a short reply in British English:
- Thank them by first name if shown, and mention one specific thing they said.
- For complaints: apologise once, don't argue, offer a way to make it right ([e.g. call us on ... / ask for the manager]).
- No discount codes or promises unless I add them.
Show me all the drafts together first. Don't publish anything until I approve each one.
💬 Monthly check-up
@Google Business Profile Give me a one-page check-up for this month vs last: how often my profile was shown, website clicks, direction requests and bookings if available. List the top search words people used to find me. Then sum up my reviews: the 3 things people praise most and the 3 complaints that come up most, with counts. Finish with 3 small actions for next month. Don't change anything on the profile.
