Let a bot haggle your internet bill down and claim money you're owed

You tell Grok Bot to find ways to save money. It reads your bills, checks what the provider offers new customers, then talks to the provider's support chat for you, says no to add-ons and only agrees a new deal after you say yes. It can also spot price drops on things you just bought and ask for the difference back.

๐ŸŽฏ What you'll have at the endYou'll have a bot that goes through your regular bills, haggles one down with the provider and only agrees a deal after you say yes.

Example

Here's the kind of thing you'll have at the end:

๐Ÿ’ฌ ChatGrok Bot ยท Bill Cutter
Bill CutterYour home internet went up to MYR 189 a month in September. New customers are offered the same speed for MYR 139.
Bill CutterPlan: ask the provider's support chat for the new-customer price on your current speed, no contract, no add-ons. OK to go ahead?
YouYes, go ahead.
Bill CutterDone. Offer: same speed for MYR 145 a month, no contract. They offered a TV box twice and I said no. Shall I accept?
YouYes.
Bill CutterAccepted. Order number NB-20417. I'll check November's bill shows MYR 145.

๐Ÿ’ธ What will this really cost me?

Prices checked 22 Oct 2026
๐Ÿงช To try it once
Free trial credit for new Grok Bot accounts (it runs out by how much work the bot does, within 7 days). After that you need The X Subscription Premium at USDย 30 (MYRย 122) a month.
๐Ÿ” To keep it running
Included in Premium: USDย 30 (MYRย 122) a month, or USDย 25 (MYRย 102) a month paid yearly. Super (USDย 100 / MYRย 408) and Ultra (USDย 200 / MYRย 816) give bigger weekly allowances.
โš ๏ธ Watch out for
Long support chats use more of your allowance than a quick job. A new deal may lock you into a contract, so read it before you say yes. Bots share one weekly allowance; past it, extra work is paid from prepaid credit, so set a monthly limit. The Plus plan (USDย 8 / MYRย 33) doesn't include Grok Bot.

  1. 1
    โ˜

Install Grok Bot and set a limit

Install Grok Bot (buttons below) and sign in. In Settings, look for Usage & Billing and set a monthly spending limit so extra usage can't run away.

  2. 2
    โ˜

    Create a 'Bill Cutter' bot

Choose New, then Create new Bot. Name it Bill Cutter and connect the email account where your bills arrive.

  3. 3
    โ˜

    Paste the rules

Paste the 'Bill Cutter rules' prompt below. Fill in what you must keep (for example, the speed you need). The key rule: it never agrees a deal without your yes.

  4. 4
    โ˜

    Let it list your bills

Ask it to read the last three months of email and list every regular bill, the amount, and when any contract ends. Check the list is right.

  5. 5
    โ˜

    Pick one bill to haggle

Start with the one that has gone up most. The bot looks up what the provider offers new customers and what rivals charge, then tells you its plan before contacting anyone.

  6. 6
    โ˜

Let it chat with the provider

Say yes to the plan. The bot uses the provider's online support chat (some sites ask you to log in or tick a 'not a robot' box: do that when it asks). It reports back with the offer.

  7. 7
    โ˜

    Approve or refuse the deal

Read the offer: price, contract length, anything added. Only reply 'yes' if it's what you want. Keep the order number it gives you.

  8. 8
    โ˜

    Optional: check the next bill

Ask the bot to check the next bill when it arrives and tell you if the new price isn't there. Mike's bot offered to do exactly this.

โž• Extra step: hidden in ๐Ÿฃ Beginner mode
  9. 9
    โ˜

    Optional: catch price drops

Use the 'Price drop watcher' prompt to have it check recent purchases for price drops and tell you if your card or the shop offers price protection.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Bill Cutter rules
You are my Bill Cutter. Your job is to lower what I pay for regular bills, without me losing anything I need.
1. Read my email from the last 3 months and list every regular bill: provider, what it's for, amount each month, and contract end date if shown.
2. For the bill I pick, find out what this provider offers new customers right now and what two rivals charge for the same thing. Tell me your plan before you contact anyone.
3. When I say yes, contact the provider through their own website support chat. Be polite and firm. Ask for a lower price or a better plan. I must keep: [e.g. at least 300 Mbps, my phone number].
4. Say no to every add-on (extra lines, TV, streaming, insurance) unless I asked for it.
5. Never agree, accept or sign up to anything until I reply 'yes' to the exact offer: price, contract length and any fees.
6. Never share my card or bank details in a chat. If a site needs me to log in or prove I'm human, stop and ask me.
7. After a deal, give me the order number and check that the next bill shows the new price.
๐Ÿ’ฌ Price drop watcher (optional)
Every [Monday], look at my order confirmation emails from the last [30] days. For each item over [amount], check if the same shop now sells it for less. If it does, tell me: item, what I paid, today's price, and whether the shop or my card offers price protection or a price match (check their official pages, don't guess). Draft the claim for me to check. Don't submit anything without my yes.

โš ๏ธ Tips & common mistakes

๐ŸŒŸ Why it's worth it

๐Ÿ’ก Why it mattersInternet, phone and insurance bills creep up after the first year, and haggling takes an hour on hold that most people never spend. A bot that does the chat, refuses the upsell and checks the next bill can save the cost of its own subscription.
๐Ÿท๏ธ Real exampleMike P (@mikepat711) told his Grok Bot on 17 Oct 2026 to 'go figure out how to pay for itself'. His screenshot shows it agreed a new Xfinity deal: 300 Mbps for USD 70.90 a month, no contract, after turning down a mobile line twice. He says that's USD 43 a month less than his USD 113.90 October bill, and the bot said it would check the next bill. Elon Musk reposted it ('This really works!'). Another user, @whaleyxbt, says his bot spotted a monitor he'd bought drop USD 80 and filed a price-protection claim on his card.
