👀 What you'll get
ExampleHere's the kind of thing you'll have at the end:
Done
- 3D model built from your plan (3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 98 m²)
- 6 room pictures in 'warm Japandi' style: living, dining, kitchen, master bedroom, study, balcony
- Walk-through web page: tan-flat-concept.html (opens in any browser)
Please check
- The plan's study window width was hard to read; I used 1.2 m
- Kitchen ceiling height not shown; I used 2.8 m

🧰 Before you start
- ChatGPT Pro or Business Premium with a dot set up
- A floor plan with measurements (CAD export, PDF or a clear image)
- 3-5 style reference pictures (colours, materials, furniture you like)
- Optional: Blender installed if you want to edit the model yourself
🪜 Step by step
- 1☐
Prepare the floor plan
Export the plan as a PDF or image with room names and measurements visible. Mark doors, windows and ceiling height if you know it.
- 2☐
Collect style pictures
Pick 3-5 photos that show the look you want: wall colours, flooring, furniture style, lighting.
- 3☐
Give your dot the job
Open your dot in ChatGPT, attach the plan and pictures, and paste the 'Floor plan to 3D' prompt below.
- 4☐
Check the model before the pictures
Ask it for a top-down view first. Check that walls, doors and windows match your plan before it spends time on styling.
- 5☐
Let it choose angles, then pick the best
The dot picks camera angles and makes the room pictures. Keep the strongest 4-6 and ask for changes in plain words ('warmer lights', 'swap the sofa for a lighter one').
- 6☐
Get a link the client can explore
Ask it to turn the model into a web page (it can use three.js, a free tool for 3D in the browser) that you can send as a link or file.
- 7☐
Optional: save it as a skill
Ask your dot to save these steps as a skill called 'floor plan to 3D', so next time you only attach a new plan and pictures.

I'm an interior designer preparing a proposal for [client / project name]. Attached: the floor plan for [type of space, e.g. a 3-bedroom flat] with measurements, and [number] style reference pictures. 1. Build a 3D model of the space in Blender from the plan, keeping the real measurements, doors and windows. Show me a top-down view first and wait for my OK. 2. Then style it to match the reference pictures: [colours, materials, furniture style, lighting mood]. 3. Choose 6 camera angles that show each main room well and render a picture from each. 4. Finally, export an interactive web page (three.js) where the client can walk through or rotate the model. Tell me anything in the plan you couldn't read or had to guess. Save all files in a folder called [project name].
Here is my feedback on the pictures: [e.g. picture 2: warmer lighting; living room: lighter sofa, add a rug; kitchen: matt black handles]. Update only what I mention, keep everything else the same, and re-render the affected pictures and the web page.⚠️ Tips & common mistakes
- Always label these as concept visuals, not photos of a finished space.
- Check measurements in the model against the plan before showing a client; AI can misread small text.
- Dots are rolling out gradually to Pro and Business Premium users in eligible markets, so check you have one first.
- If you're marketing a property for sale or rent, check your local rules on using computer-made images in adverts.
