Hand your work trip to ChatGPT: meeting prep on the flight, local errands sorted when you land

On a long flight with poor Wi-Fi, a designer messaged his ChatGPT dot (an always-on assistant with its own computer) to review every event and prep every meeting of a week-long work trip, and to tailor his sales deck for each one. When he landed and found he'd forgotten business cards, the dot found a 24-hour print shop, translated its website, designed the cards and placed the order.

    Create your dot

    In the ChatGPT desktop app, on desktop web or in the mobile app, look for dots and create yours. Give it a name.

    Connect only what it needs

    Connect your email and calendar so it can see the trip. Add your slides and brand files (logo, colours, fonts) to its files.

    In its permission rules, say it must ask you before any purchase or account sign-up. Approving one purchase doesn't give it permission for the next.

    Brief it before you fly

    Paste the 'Trip brief' prompt below with your dates and goals. It builds a list of every meeting and event.

    Whenever you have Wi-Fi, message it a job: 'prep tomorrow's three meetings', 'make a version of the deck for this client'. It keeps working while you're offline and the answers wait for you.
